The Fort always tries to give our horses a good retirement after their service in the NWMP Musical Ride, and always do our very best to find them a good home to live out the remainder of their days.

BUD-retired 2012. Bud was retired to a former Mounted Patrol Rider, he now enjoys his job as a ranch and cattle horse.
DOC-retired 2012 Doc was retired to a former Mounted Patrol Rider, he now lives in semi-retirement as a trail and cattle horse.
SQUIGGY-retired 2012 Squiggy was retired to a farm near Doc. She has been doing well and love going for rides with Doc.
MICKEY-retired 2011 Mickey was taken to a sale and now lives at a farm.
JAKE-retired 2009, passed away 2011 Jake was retired to the Fort Manager, he quietly passed in the winter of 2011.
JACK-retired 2010 Jack was retired to a ranch, he LOVES it! Jack was a sorrel and we are pretty sure he knew he was not the right colour for the NWMP ride. He enjoys his ranch life much more!
DUDE-passed away 2010 Dude sadly passed away due to an accident in the winter of 2010, he was a good horse and is greatly missed.
ROOSTER-retired 2009 Rooster was retired to a home that she could have her feet taken care of constantly as she had lameness in 2009.
