Is the Fort Museum the original NWMP Fort?
-No, the museum was built in the 1950′s as a replica of the original Fort. The Museum is built very similar to what the original Fort would have looked like, minus the blockhouses (the towers in the corner of the compound) which are believed to have been added to the museum for a “Hollywood” effect.

Is the original Fort still standing?
-unfortunately the original Fort has been washed away from many years of flooding in the riverbottom but a location marker is located near the original site which is a few kilometres from the Museum. Maps are available for the location of the Fort site, The Barracks site and the RCMP cemetery.

Are the riders of the NWMP Musical Ride actual RCMP officers?
-No, our riders are mostly students, ages 16+, although some of the riders have later gone to schooling and employment for policing and the RCMP. Our ride has no connection to the Official RCMP Musical Ride, and our uniforms are based off of the retired NWMP dress uniforms.

How long is the NWMP Musical Ride?
-The Ride starts with Inspection which can take 10-15 minutes, which is followed by the NWMP Musical Ride performance which lasts about 20 minutes. Try to plan on 30-45 minutes for the Ride.

How far away is Head Smashed-In Buffalo Jump?
-The Buffalo Jump is located very close, only a 15-20 minute drive from the Fort.
